Proposed Change

#1 PROPOSED CHANGE

Create a Annual Regional Human Services Coalition with our partner tribes, local jurisdictions, and Community Partners. As a current Human Services Commissioner appointed by Lacey City Council, I really think this is so important. My 16 years of community service have shown me that our community has a great heart. We have a lot of challenges facing us currently and in the future. Collaberation will be key to change.

#2 PROPOSED CHANGE
Affordable housing: This is a complex situation that Council has been working on especially with the approval of accessory dwelling units. We have built a lot of apartments over the years and will soon run into a lack of Single-Family Residences. What we need is another source of housing that provides opportunity to own to our Missing Middle. Condominiums and Townhomes are an option to provide ownership for people who want to downsize or are first time buyers.

If you don't
love where
you live,
who will?

Small business is the lifeblood of Lacey. As someone who has worked with small business owners for almost 40 years I understand the challenges they face. Lacey has ALWAYSs been considered to be business friendly and I want to make sure it stays that way. This is necessarily a change, seat but with me securing the Position 6 seat I will ensure that small business is a top priority. Supporting and growing small business in the City of Lacey requires a strategic mix of financial support, streamlined regulations, community promotion and infrastructure investment.
